The Surrey Annual Provincial Cathedral Service of Thanksgiving took place at Guildford Cathedral on Sunday 8 October. Members of Crescamus Lodge travelled from Croydon to be among the many hundreds of Freemasons, their wives, partners and families attending the service. There were also many dignitaries from across Surrey.
Annual Cathedral Service
Welcomed to the newly restored Cathedral by the Dean, Dianna Gwillians; readings were given by the R.W. Provincial Grand Master Ian Chandler, the Deputy Superintendent, E. Comp. Alan Bayliss, representing the Holy Royal Arch and W. Bro. Richard Wileman, Deputy Provincial Grand Master.
Freemasons from across Surrey attended the event in full regalia. The Service is one of the most important in the Provincial calendar. It is an enjoyable occasion, being a mixture of colourful pageantry, wonderful music, and singing.
With the service having been cancelled in 2016, due to the level of building works being undertaken, it was fantastic to return to our Cathedral. Once again, the service was a delight for all, demonstrating Freemasonry in the heart of our community.
